Bryan testified before U.S. House committee on Interior budget request

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. was scheduled to testify on February 11, 2020, before the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources during a hearing on the fiscal 2021 budget request for the Interior Department's Office of Insular Affairs.

According to Government House, Bryan was to appear with other governors of U.S. territories. His planned testimony was to include an update on the Virgin Islands and discussion of economic growth incentives, Medicaid reimbursement to the territory's hospitals, and a proposed remittance of a gasoline excise tax to the territory.

Government House also said Bryan was scheduled to take part in a senior plenary session of the Interagency Group on Insular Areas, where territorial governors were to outline federal priorities with White House officials and Interior Department leadership.
