The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on August 25, 2023, that technicians working on its Geographic Information Systems inventory project were scheduled to visit transmission and distribution assets across St. Croix from August 21 through August 31, 2023.
WAPA said the work covered poles, meters and padmount equipment. It said manhole inspections were planned along Feeder 1A from the Richmond Power Plant to Christiansted, including East Grange neighborhoods east of Grange and south of Contentment.
The authority said traffic would be flagged for short periods in sections along the affected roads during the inspections. It said the field crews were from Davey Resource Group, a subcontractor on the project, and would use video cameras and other devices during the inventory work.
