Bryan sent Senate letter on St. John land exchange questions

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. sent a letter on July 18, 2023, to Senate President Novelle E. Francis Jr. responding to questions raised by members of the 35th Legislature during a July 11 hearing on a proposed land exchange agreement with the National Park Service.

According to Government House, the agreement would allow the Virgin Islands government to build a new public school on St. John.

The letter addressed six suggestions raised during the hearing, including exchanging submerged land instead of Whistling Cay and seeking congressional direction for the U.S. Department of the Interior to transfer land at Estate Catherineberg to the Virgin Islands government.
