Bryan issues statement on death of Gloria H. Canegata Waterman

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. issued a statement on July 14, 2023, on the death of Gloria H. Canegata Waterman, describing her as an educator and administrator with a long record of public service in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Government House said Waterman served as a math teacher, a professor at the University of the Virgin Islands and later principal of St. Joseph’s Catholic School. The statement also said she held positions with the Virgin Islands Board of Education, the Department of Labor and the Office of the Governor as St. Croix administrator.

Bryan’s statement noted that the 34th Legislature named the Education Department’s Administration Building on St. Croix in Waterman’s honor.
