ADA territorial coordinator held St. Thomas seminar on Social Security Ticket to Work program

Americans with Disabilities Act Territorial Coordinator Julien Henley held a seminar on the Social Security Administration’s Ticket to Work program on St. Thomas on Oct. 8, 2019, at the Virgin Islands Department of Human Services conference room.

The seminar was intended to inform residents about the program, which the Social Security Administration said supports career development for disability beneficiaries ages 18 to 64 who want to work.

Government House said a similar seminar was scheduled for Oct. 10, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Red Cross at 6035 Castle Coakley on St. Croix.

According to the announcement, the seminars were organized through a partnership involving the Social Security Administration, the Office of the Governor and the Disability Rights Center of the Virgin Islands. Participating agencies included the Disability Rights Center, Vocational & Rehabilitation Services, the Virgin Islands Department of Labor, Movimiento para el Alcance de Vida Independiente and Alianza Municipal de Servicios Integrados.
