USVI reported 56 active COVID-19 cases on Nov. 15, 2021
Government House said on Nov. 15, 2021, that active COVID-19 cases in the U.S. Virgin Islands continued to decline, citing figures presented by Assistant Health Commissioner Dr. Nicole Craigwell-Syms during the weekly press briefing.
As of Nov. 15, the territory had a seven-day positivity rate of 1.57% and 56 active cases, including 44 on St. Croix, eight on St. Thomas and four on St. John. Government House said 215,275 people had been tested to date, 7,370 had tested positive, 7,230 had recovered and 84 had died.
It said two COVID-19 patients were hospitalized at Juan F. Luis Medical Center on St. Croix, with none on a ventilator, and no COVID-19 patients were hospitalized at Schneider Regional Medical Center on St. Thomas.
Government House also said COVID-19 vaccinations were available at no cost at community vaccination centers in each district for people age 5 and older, with appointments and walk-up requests accepted. It said the pediatric vaccination schedule for children ages 5 to 11 was Tuesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Maternal Child Health on St. Thomas and Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Community Vaccination Center on St. Croix.
In the same briefing, Government House said 8% wage repayments under the 2011 Virgin Islands Economic Stability Act had been sent to eligible recipients during the week of Nov. 8, 2021. It also said the Virgin Islands Division of Personnel planned a virtual career fair for Nov. 17, 2021, and that volunteers were being sought for playground equipment installation at Midre Cummings Recreational and Youth Facility in Frederiksted during the week beginning Nov. 12, 2021.
