The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said a road closure was scheduled on St. Thomas for March 25, 2023, from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m. between the former Addelita Cancryn Junior High School site and the Randolph Harley Power Plant in Subbase.
WAPA said the closure was planned to allow transportation of the final propane storage vessel for the Wartsila project, identified as a liquefied petroleum gas bullet tank.
According to the authority, the tank had a 30,000-gallon capacity and was to be used to store fuel for new Wartsila reciprocating internal combustion dual-fuel engines.
WAPA said the closure was not expected to interfere with traffic on Moravian Highway.
