The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said potable water service on St. Croix was scheduled to be interrupted beginning at about 9 a.m. on August 8, 2023, as crews depressurized water lines near Estate Mars Hill for contractor work tied to newly installed lines.

WAPA said the interruption was expected to affect Mars Hill, DPNR, VIPD, Target Gas Station, Hannah’s Rest, White Lady, White Bay, Stoney Ground, Two Brothers and Smithfield.

The authority also said traffic was scheduled to be diverted beginning at about 6 p.m. on August 8, 2023, for exploratory digging near Mars Hill Road. The road closure was set to run from Amigos Service Station to the Hannah’s Rest intersection. WAPA said the work was expected to last up to 14 hours from the start time.
