Mapp directed release of more than $30 million for AECOM home-repair work
Gov. Kenneth E. Mapp directed the Virgin Islands Finance Department to release more than $30 million to AECOM for work performed under the Emergency Home Repair VI program, according to a Government House statement issued June 12, 2018.
The statement said a $13.5 million check was to be issued to AECOM on June 12, 2018, with the remaining balance to be paid by the end of that week. AECOM was then expected to pay its subcontractors.
Government House said the payments had been delayed pending federal approval. The statement said Mapp reached an arrangement with FEMA Region II Federal Coordinating Officer William Vogel to allow the use of other previously approved housing repair funds until new funding became available.
