Estate Richmond potable water standpipe on St. Croix returned to 24-hour schedule on March 22, 2019
The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said the Estate Richmond potable water standpipe on St. Croix would return to a 24-hour operating schedule on the morning of March 22, 2019.
WAPA said potable water service to the west end of St. Croix had normalized and water levels at the Kingshill storage tank were increasing. The authority said the tank level stood at six feet in late afternoon on March 21, 2019, amid heavy demand tied to dry conditions.
The utility said crews would continue monitoring the system and water quality. It also said some areas were experiencing discolored water and that portions of the system would be flushed as needed.
WAPA said customers from mid-island to the west end of St. Croix who were experiencing a complete water service interruption should contact its Water Distribution Division.
