COVID-19 state of emergency in U.S. Virgin Islands extended through March 11
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. issued a proclamation on February 16, 2022, stating that the U.S. Virgin Islands' COVID-19 state of emergency had been automatically extended through March 11, 2022.
The emergency order had been set to expire on February 9, 2022. According to the proclamation, the extension took effect because the 34th Legislature did not act within the five-day period on the governor's February 4, 2022 request for a 90-day extension, triggering an automatic 30-day extension under Title 23, Section 1005(d) of the Virgin Islands Code.
The proclamation said the state of emergency and all related terms would remain in effect through March 11, 2022, unless lifted earlier or extended by another order.
