Bryan says he requested resignations of police commissioner and OMB director amid federal probe
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. said at a June 17, 2024, press conference that he had requested the resignations of Virgin Islands Police Commissioner Ray Martinez and Office of Management and Budget Director Jenifer O’Neal following requests for information involving both officials in a federal investigation.
Bryan said neither official had been criminally indicted or charged with a crime.
Attorney General Gordon Rhea said the Virgin Islands government was cooperating with federal authorities.
Bryan also said the administration had begun developing an ethics and conflict-of-interest training program on June 10, 2024, with a pilot in the Division of Personnel before expanding it to other agencies.
He said the administration would provide a one-time additional $1 million to support development of a white-collar crime unit within the Department of Justice.
