Bryan and Roach marked national COVID-19 memorial with luminaries for 24 Virgin Islands victims
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. and Lt. Gov. Tregenza Roach on January 19, 2021, placed luminaries and candles in remembrance of the 24 Virgin Islanders who had died from COVID-19, according to Government House.
Bryan placed luminaries on the steps of Government House in Christiansted on St. Croix. On St. Thomas, Roach placed candles on the balcony of his office building while Government House was under repair.
The observance was held as part of the nationwide "COVID-19 Memorial to Lives Lost," scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Eastern on January 19, 2021, in Washington and in cities and towns across the country.
