The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on June 6, 2024, that severe weather had delayed repairs to an underground fault on Feeder 13 affecting customers in the St. Thomas-St. John district.

WAPA said restoration work was halted late on June 5 because of a flash flood warning and significant lightning activity, which it said made access to the underground infrastructure unsafe.

The authority said crews had located the fault between Moe’s on Waterfront and the overhead riser near Jarvis Annex in Charlotte Amalie. WAPA said the feeder initially tripped at about 5 p.m. on June 4 and that crews had been isolating and testing cables to determine the cause.

WAPA said repair work would resume when weather conditions allowed safe access.
