Bryan issued September proclamations in the U.S. Virgin Islands

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. issued a series of proclamations for September in the U.S. Virgin Islands, according to a Government House statement published Sept. 7, 2023.

The proclamations designated September as National Preparedness Month, Ovarian and Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, Sickle Cell Disease Awareness Month, Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and Labor and Management Awareness Month.

The statement said the proclamations were intended to promote emergency preparedness, cancer screening awareness, awareness of sickle cell disease, suicide prevention efforts, and recognition of labor and management contributions in the territory.

Bryan also proclaimed Sept. 4 as West Indies Solidarity Day, Sept. 11 as Patriot Day, Sept. 24 as Gold Star Mothers/Family Day, Sept. 25 as Murder Victims Remembrance Day, and Sept. 29 as Arbor Day in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
