Bryan issued statement on death of Rep. Elijah Cummings

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. issued a statement on Oct. 17, 2019, offering condolences on behalf of the Virgin Islands following the death of U.S. Rep. Elijah Cummings of Maryland.

Bryan said Cummings was "the embodiment of statesmanship, of fairness, of compassion" and "a bastion of moral leadership in the Congress and an example for all elected leaders."

He also said he admired Cummings for his commitment to his constituents and to democracy.
