The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said Bay Street and nearby areas by the cemetery on St. John were scheduled to close temporarily on January 16, 2023, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for milling and paving work.
The work was part of Phase 1 of the Cruz Bay Underground Project, according to a WAPA notice published January 12, 2023.
WAPA said Bay Street at the Gallows Point end and Tobacco Road would remain accessible through Seagrape Lane and Frangipani Lane. The authority said the road was expected to reopen the same day after the work was completed.
Line striping on Bay Street was scheduled for January 17, 2023. WAPA also said a small area near Mongoose Junction would be milled and paved during that period without requiring a road closure.
