VIWMA temporarily closed Anguilla Landfill and Susannaberg Transfer Station after Tropical Storm Laura
The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority said on August 22, 2020, that the Anguilla Landfill on St. Croix and the Susannaberg Transfer Station on St. John were temporarily closed because of hazardous conditions caused by torrential rains from Tropical Storm Laura.
The authority asked haulers on St. Croix and St. John to hold waste until operations resumed.
