Virgin Islands Fire Service issued territory-wide burn ban

The Virgin Islands Fire Service said on April 5, 2019, that a territory-wide burn ban was in effect, prohibiting all outdoor burning.

The agency said Director Nominee Daryl A. George issued the ban because dry weather conditions had increased the risk of brush fires.

The Fire Service said all previously issued burn permits were revoked.
