WAPA took part in Earth Day and youth events on St. Croix and St. John

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said it participated in several community events on St. Croix and St. John in April 2024 tied to Earth Day, an Eco Fair and the Week of the Young Child.
According to the authority, WAPA staff joined a Week of the Young Child event hosted by the Virgin Islands Department of Education at Canegata Ballpark on St. Croix, where linemen and communications staff discussed electric safety, utility careers and a new hybrid bucket truck.
WAPA also said it took part in an Eco Fair hosted by the St. Croix Environmental Association at the St. George Village Botanical Gardens on April 19, 2024. The authority said more than 400 young people attended and learned about environmental conservation, renewable energy, and ways to conserve water and electricity.
On St. John, WAPA said it participated in an Earth Day event at Franklin Powell Sr. Park on April 22, 2024. The event was hosted by Friends of Virgin Islands National Park, according to the release.
