WAPA said employee tied to social media posts was no longer employed after internal review
The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on June 23, 2020, that the person responsible for social media posts made over the previous weekend was no longer employed by the utility after an internal review conducted under its personnel policies and procedures.
WAPA said Chief Executive Lawrence J. Kupfer had told employees on June 22, 2020, that he condemned conduct that sought to undermine efforts to end racism in policing and society.
The authority also said its leadership planned to explore additional steps to reinforce inclusivity and sensitivity within the organization.
