Bryan says St. Thomas Carnival weekend opened without reported incidents
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. said on April 29, 2019, that the opening weekend of Carnival 2019 on St. Thomas was incident-free.
Bryan, Lt. Gov. Tregenza Roach and other officials ceremonially opened the Carnival Village on April 26. The village was themed "Coggie’s Musical Ville."
In a statement, Bryan thanked the Virgin Islands Police Department, emergency responders and support organizations for the weekend.
The administration also encouraged residents to attend upcoming Carnival events, including the Food, Arts and Crafts Fair on May 1 and the Children’s Parade on May 3 on St. Thomas.
