The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said it held a three-hour electricians meeting on St. Croix on June 15, 2023, with more than 50 electricians attending.

According to WAPA, the session included presentations from its Design and Construction, System Planning, Automation, Meter Services, Dispatch, Customer Service, Line, and Revenue Assurance and Audit departments.

WAPA said topics included primary voltage and wire services, electric rates, customer and utility responsibilities, service reconnection, electrician-related service workflows, meter-tampering guidelines, and requirements for electrical service and drawing submissions.

The authority said representatives from the Energy Office, Fire Department and Department of Licensing and Consumer Affairs also provided information, including licensing requirements.

WAPA said additional information on a separate electricians meeting planned for St. Thomas would be released later.
