Bryan congratulated Biden and Harris in Nov. 7 statement

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. issued a statement on Nov. 7, 2020, congratulating President-elect Joseph Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris.

In the statement, Bryan said Harris' election as the first woman vice president was "a proud moment" and said it sent a message "that there are no bounds to what young women of color can achieve."

Bryan also said he expected the incoming administration to begin repairing political divisions in the country. He said a Biden administration was promising for the U.S. Virgin Islands because Biden had a personal connection to the territory and understood issues facing the community.

Bryan said his administration would continue working with the Trump administration on recovery efforts and other federal priorities and would continue that work with the Biden-Harris administration.
