Road closure on St. Croix set for Clifton Hill waterline work beginning March 23, 2023

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said a road closure on St. Croix was scheduled to begin March 23, 2023, as part of the Clifton Hill Waterline Rehabilitation Project.

WAPA said the closure was to remain in effect through April 5, 2023, to allow the Department of Public Works and the authority to complete waterline installation and road construction.

According to the notice, the road was to be closed Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and after 6 p.m. as needed. On weekends, the closure was scheduled from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The affected area was the intersection near La Guarida Bar & Restaurant that connects to Melvin H. Evans Highway and extends northwest for about four blocks. WAPA said through traffic on Melvin H. Evans Highway would not be affected.
