Bryan met with members of Congress in Washington on Aug. 24
Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. met with several members of Congress in Washington on Aug. 24, 2021, as he sought support for the U.S. Virgin Islands' inclusion in President Joe Biden's $1 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill and other economic-development initiatives, according to Government House.
Government House said Bryan met with Rep. James Clyburn of South Carolina, the House majority whip; Rep. Richard Neal of Massachusetts, chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee; Rep. Suzan DelBene of Washington, vice chair of the House Ways and Means Committee; Rep. Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut, chair of the House Appropriations Committee; and Robert Edmonson, chief of staff to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Delegate to Congress Stacey Plaskett accompanied Bryan to some of the meetings.
Government House said Bryan had additional meetings scheduled in Washington for Aug. 25, 2021, and was set to return to the territory on Aug. 26, 2021.
