Road closures were scheduled to take effect in Frederiksted, St. Croix, on Monday, June 7, 2021, on Queen Cross, East, King and Customs House streets, with traffic detoured, according to the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority.

WAPA said water system personnel planned to determine whether any service interruptions would be needed while a contractor completed connections for several remaining new water lines as part of the Frederiksted Water Rehabilitation Project.

The authority said potable water service interruptions were not anticipated on June 7, though some customers could experience reduced water pressure during the week of June 7 as quality tests were performed on newly installed service lines.

WAPA said the Frederiksted project involved replacing old ductile iron lines with new PVC water lines.
