WAPA contractor visited St. Croix customer meters and equipment for GIS inventory project

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said technicians from contractor Davey Resource Group were scheduled to visit transmission and distribution assets on St. Croix from September 17 through September 30, 2023, as part of a Geographic Information Systems inventory project.

WAPA said the work covered poles, customer meters and padmount equipment along feeders 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A and 6A.

According to the notice, Davey technicians used tablets, GPS equipment and other devices during the field inventory and could be identified by WAPA contractor ID badges, safety vests and a letter of authority available on request.

WAPA said the GIS project was intended to support asset tracking, load monitoring, system analysis, disaster-recovery assessments and response to system problems.
