Bryan statement said Barefoot Buddha chef placed second at National Buffalo Wing Festival

Government House said on September 13, 2022, that Chef Cory Baker of Barefoot Buddha Restaurant won second place for "Media Best in Show" at the 20th Annual National Buffalo Wing Festival in Buffalo, New York, held on September 3 and 4.

The statement said Barefoot Buddha earned the chance to represent the U.S. Virgin Islands after winning the 2022 King of the Wing contest in June at Magens Bay on St. Thomas.

According to the release, sponsors of the local contest provided airfare and accommodations for the team to compete in Buffalo, and the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism accompanied the delegation.

Government House also said the 12th Annual King of the Wing contest was scheduled for June 10, 2023, on St. Thomas.
