VIPD base pay increase took effect May 21, with raises reflected in June 7 paychecks
The Virgin Islands government said increased starting salaries for Virgin Islands Police Department officers would take effect on May 21, 2018.
Gov. Kenneth E. Mapp authorized Personnel Director Milton Potter to raise base pay for police officers to $40,953 from $30,715, according to the May 17, 2018 announcement.
Officers earning less than the new base salary were set to receive increases reflected in their June 7, 2018 paychecks.
The announcement said Office of Management and Budget Director Julio Rhymer had certified the availability of funding for the pay increases.
