The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said construction on the Midland Underground Project on St. Croix was scheduled to resume on March 6, 2023.

WAPA said work was to continue Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in manholes along Route 663 between Melvin Evans Highway and Queen Mary Highway.

According to the authority, the project runs along Route 663 from Melvin Evans Highway to Queen Mary Highway and includes the Gregory E. Willocks Substation. WAPA said the work would replace four overhead distribution lines with underground duct banks.

WAPA said no road closures were expected, but motorists were advised to use caution in the area.
