USVI government said Google would provide local COVID-19 information through search and maps
Government House said on May 6, 2020, that the Virgin Islands government was working with Google to make local COVID-19 information available through Google Search, Maps and other products.
According to the announcement, information provided with input from the Departments of Health, Education, Labor, Tourism and Licensing and Consumer Affairs, along with the Virgin Islands Territorial Emergency Management Agency, was to include health guidance and other local updates related to the pandemic.
The administration said the information would direct residents to the Health Department's COVID-19 website, doh.vi.gov/covid19usvi, for symptom monitoring guidance, at-home care information, and territorial case data, including counts of positive, recovered, negative and pending cases.
The announcement said other material to be made available included frequently asked questions, testing guidelines, events and closures, and quarantine guidelines.
