Bryan issues statement on death of Congressman John Lewis

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. issued a statement on July 18, 2020, marking the death of civil rights leader and longtime Congressman John Lewis.

In the statement, Bryan said Lewis "spent his entire life fighting for racial, social, and economic equality" and said his role in the campaign to end racial segregation helped shape the nation. Bryan also offered condolences to Lewis' family and others who had worked with him during his civil-rights career.
