WAPA named Jacob Lewis chief financial officer
The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on April 22, 2022, that Jacob Lewis had joined the utility as chief financial officer.
WAPA said Lewis had more than 15 years of experience in finance, energy and utilities, including work in fossil-fuel and renewable power generation, retail electricity, liquefied natural gas production and shipping, and transportation pipelines.
Before joining WAPA, Lewis served as vice president at Mexico Pacific Limited, where the authority said he oversaw corporate finance matters including accounting, tax, human resources and investor relations. WAPA said he previously was director of financial planning and analysis at Dynegy Inc. and earlier worked at Ernst and Young as a valuation and transaction consultant focused on the power and utilities industry.
WAPA said Lewis holds a bachelor of business administration in finance from Texas A&M University, a master of science in finance from the University of Tulsa, and the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
The authority said Debra Gottlieb, who had been serving as interim chief financial officer, would remain on staff temporarily to support the leadership transition.
