WAPA board approved release of FY2019 audited financial statements and authorized CFO job offer

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority’s governing board, meeting in an emergency session on July 8, 2021, approved the release of fiscal year 2019 audited financial statements for the electric and water systems.

WAPA said the financial statements were the only items before the board for consideration at the meeting.

In executive session, board members also discussed legal and personnel matters and voted to authorize an employment offer to a prospective chief financial officer candidate. WAPA said additional details would be made public after negotiations were completed.

Board members in attendance were Chairman Anthony D. Thomas, Secretary Juanita Young, Cheryl Boynes Jackson, Kyle Fleming and Joel Lee. Vice Chairman Jed JohnHope, Hubert Turnbull and Elizabeth Armstrong were excused.
