BMV prepared temporary modular offices on St. Thomas and St. Croix
The Virgin Islands Bureau of Motor Vehicles said on April 20, 2018, that two modular units had arrived on St. Thomas and that two more were expected on St. Croix for temporary office space after hurricane damage to BMV offices in both districts.
On St. Thomas, one unit was designated for driver’s license renewals and new applications, and the other was to be used as a testing area. The agency said the St. Thomas units were scheduled to begin operating in late May 2018.
The government said its long-term plan was to rebuild the St. Thomas office next to the SFC Leonard B. Francis Armory and the St. Croix office in an area between the University of the Virgin Islands’ Albert Sheen Campus and the Golden Grove Correctional Facility.
