Bryan issued statement on WAPA blackouts in St. Thomas and St. John

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. issued a statement on Sept. 11, 2019, addressing blackouts in the St. Thomas-St. John district.

Bryan said he shared the frustration of residents and businesses over a series of generation outages affecting St. Thomas and St. John. He said the administration was working with the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority to improve power generation reliability and had been assured the authority's immediate challenges were solvable.

He also said he supported WAPA's collaboration with the New York Power Authority for emergency technical assistance.
