Government House announced Nov. 15 family health and wellness expo on St. Croix

Government House said on Nov. 8, 2019, that it would host a Family Health and Wellness Expo from noon to 5 p.m. on Nov. 15, 2019, at the D.C. Canegata Recreation Center on St. Croix.

According to the announcement, the event was organized with the Virgin Islands Department of Sports, Parks and Recreation and the Virgin Islands Personnel Division.

The release said participating agencies, health-care professionals and organizations would offer biometric screenings, referrals, light treatment options, health counseling, exercise and wellness tips, food demonstrations and tastings, and information, products and services related to health and wellness.

Organizations listed as participants included AARP, Frederiksted Health Care Inc., Neighborhood Pharmacy, Myrtle’s Detox, AAA Chiro, Island Therapy Solutions, Therapeutic Massage, the Virgin Islands Department of Health, Therapy Work and Sterling Optical. The announcement said other providers and organizations also were expected to participate.

The release also listed the USVI Soccer Association, the Virgin Islands Department of Tourism, Neighborhood Pharmacy, D.C. United and the Bermuda Men’s National Soccer Team among sponsors.
