Mapp sends condolences to Anguilla after death of former Chief Minister Sir Emile Gumbs

Gov. Kenneth E. Mapp said on May 24, 2018, that Lt. Gov. Osbert Potter would represent the U.S. Virgin Islands at the state funeral for former Anguilla Chief Minister Sir Emile Gumbs on May 25, 2018.

Mapp also extended condolences to the people of Anguilla and Virgin Islanders with ties to the island following Gumbs' death earlier in May.

Government House said Sir Emile was Anguilla's second and longest-serving chief minister. It said he was knighted in 1994 by Queen Elizabeth II and served two terms as chief minister.
