Thanksgiving services for 2017 hurricanes scheduled on St. Croix for Sept. 23

Government House said on September 13, 2018, that a thanksgiving service marking the first anniversary of Hurricanes Irma and Maria would be held on St. Croix on Sunday, September 23, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the St. Croix Educational Complex.

The announcement followed a service held on St. Thomas on Sunday, September 9, 2018, at the University of the Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center, where Gov. Kenneth E. Mapp spoke about the territory's recovery after the storms.

Government House also said a third thanksgiving service was scheduled for St. John on Sunday, September 30, 2018, at Franklin Powell Park in Cruz Bay.

The St. Croix event was announced to include Stanley and the Ten Sleepless Knights and other gospel groups.
