St. Thomas ranked top Caribbean destination on Airbnb

St. Thomas was ranked the No. 1 Caribbean destination on Airbnb, according to an announcement released on October 22, 2018, citing a 600% increase in bookings from the previous year.

Government House said Charlotte Amalie earned the distinction based on Airbnb internal data as of September 2018. The rankings measured future guest bookings for November 2018 through March 2019 in Caribbean destinations with at least 100 guest arrivals, compared with bookings for the same period a year earlier using the same parameters.

Airbnb said in its announcement that tourists were returning to the Caribbean and that bookings were up year over year.
