The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on October 12, 2023, that its online payment platform would be unavailable from 4 p.m. on October 13 until 7:30 a.m. on October 16 because of scheduled system maintenance.

WAPA said it would not perform disconnections for unpaid bills while the online payment system was offline. The authority said disconnections would resume on October 17, 2023, to give customers additional time to make payments.

During the outage, customers could still submit checks or money orders in drop boxes at customer service offices or make payments at FirstBank, Banco Popular and Bank of St. Croix locations. WAPA said electronic payments would not be accepted through its website or at customer service offices during the maintenance period.
