USVI admitted critical COVID-19 patient from vessel at sea

The Virgin Islands COVID-19 Task Force said on May 8, 2020, that a person suffering respiratory distress aboard a vessel at sea had tested positive for COVID-19.

The patient was admitted late on May 7, 2020, to Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center in critical condition after the vessel was apparently denied entry into Puerto Rico, according to the statement.

Government House said the vessel departed Charlotte Amalie at noon on May 8, 2020.
