Bryan issued statement marking Martin Luther King Jr. Day in 2019

Gov. Albert Bryan Jr. issued a statement on Jan. 21, 2019, recognizing the observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

In the statement, Bryan said King had inspired people to pursue peace, prosperity, equal rights and justice, and urged residents to work together to improve the Virgin Islands community.

Bryan also cited King's words: "Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter."
