WAPA sought PSC approval for higher LEAC rate

The Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority said on April 14, 2022, that it had petitioned the Virgin Islands Public Services Commission in Docket 289 for an adjustment to the Levelized Energy Adjustment Clause, or LEAC, rate.

WAPA proposed an electric system LEAC rate of $0.263127 per kilowatt-hour, an increase of $0.040881 per kilowatt-hour from the existing rate.

The authority said the proposed increase was tied to rising fuel prices.
