• Bookmarks: 27

US Virgin Islands Governor Albert Bryan is leading a delegation to Taiwan to strengthen economic and cultural relations between the US Virgin Islands and Taiwan. During the trip, Governor Bryan is meeting with high-level Taiwanese officials in government and the private sector to create strategic partnerships and develop business between the two jurisdictions.

To further this initiative, the USVI government is opening the first Invest USVI office in Taiwan. The office is a public-private partnership unit designed to attract foreign direct investment into the territory, not just from Taiwan but from the broader Asia-Pacific region. The Taiwanese government will provide subsidies to support the office’s operation in Taipei.

The governor is also attending the 2023 Smart City Summit & Expo while in Taiwan. Governor Bryan’s trip to Taiwan was originally scheduled for 2020 but was postponed due to the pandemic.

In addition to discussing opportunities for business partnerships and collaboration between the public and private sectors in Taiwan, Governor Bryan also recently visited New York for the same purpose.
