ST. THOMAS – Authorities captured two men wanted on the US mainland in distinct incidents at Cyril E. King Airport, following alerts from Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers.

On March 16, police arrived at the airport to find CBP officers detaining Gerald Leslie Dial. Dial was attempting to clear customs for a flight to the US mainland when an alert from California informed officers of an outstanding arrest warrant. CBP officers verified the warrant’s validity and arrested Dial, charging him as a fugitive from justice. Dial faces felony robbery, grand theft, and burglary charges in California.

A similar situation occurred on March 19 when officers arrested Brandon Jeffrey McMillin as he tried to board a flight to the mainland. An alert from Kentucky revealed a valid arrest warrant for McMillin, who now faces charges as a fugitive from justice. In Kentucky, McMillin is wanted for flagrant non-support, a class D felony.

Both men will remain in custody until their court appearances. Dial’s advice of rights hearing is set for Tuesday, March 21, 2023. At this time, there is no information available about McMillin’s next court date.
