ST. CROIX, USVI – On April 19, at roughly 10:35 a.m., detectives of the Economic Crime Unit arrested Kareem Edwards, age 38 of Estate Cane, on an arrest warrant, charging him with Obtaining Money by False Pretense and Grand Larceny.

Edwards is accused of depositing fraudulent checks, totaling more than $5,000, into his personal account, on February 25 and 26, 2020.

Bail for Edwards was set at $20,000, which he was not able to post. He was subsequently turned over to the custody of the Bureau of Corrections, pending his Advice of Rights hearing.
