ST. CROIX — The V.I. Police Department on Wednesday sought the community’s assistance in identifying a body of a female that the department said was in an advanced stage of decomposition.
According to police spokesman Toby Derima, on Wednesday at approximately 8:36 a.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center was notified of an apparent dead body near the roadway in Estate Bugby Hole. Officers traveled to the area and located a deceased female in advanced decomposition.
Detectives on the scene were unable to ascertain the deceased’s race or age, based on the condition of the body, Mr. Derima said.
Police are appealing to the community for assistance in identifying this person. If you have a female family member who has recently gone missing, you are urged to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau immediately at (340) 227-5291.
