Office of the Lieutenant Governor Provides Update on Operations Territory-Wide Following Covid-Related Closures
The Office of the Lieutenant Governor early Monday provided an update regarding operations of its divisions which have been affected by Covid-19.
Divisions located on St. Thomas at Nisky Center Suite 1B, Ground Floor (former Immigration Office- facing Subbase) will resume operations today, the OLG said.
The following divisions were temporarily closed to implement required Covid-19 protocols but will resume operations on May 16, 2022.
- Division of Real Property Tax
- Office of the Tax Assessor, including the Cadastral Unit
- Office of the Tax Collector
- Recorder of Deeds
- Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
- V.I. Medicare/Virgin Islands State Health Insurance Assistance Program (VISHIP)
- Cashiers
- Division of Corporations and Trademarks
- Banking, Insurance, and Financial Regulation
- Office of the Tax Collector
The OLG advised the public that services offered by the Notary Public Division remain temporarily ceased. Additionally, the St. Croix Tax Assessor Office, and the on-site cashier located at the Lagoon Street Commercial Bldg. No. 1 (Frederiksted) location remain temporarily closed.
Both the pause in services provided by the Notary Public Division and the temporary closure of the Frederiksted Tax Assessor office are due to confirmed Covid-19 cases. The OLG said it will keep the public informed on when services will resume.
